We streak the paint across our cheeks
As we prepare for our war zones
Guns at dawn
Feral cries of battle on our lips
The rain hides our falling tears
In the passions of this rush to glory
We missed what they'd told us all along
We fall to our knees blinded in the light of truth
Scraping the lies from our tongues
At the end of this world we fall down down
Tumbling freely through the deafening chimes of the clock
Spinning slowly we cling to each other
Spinning slowly we finally let go
I'll never look at you the same again
And already I see distain in your eyes
Unrelenting torrents drove us apart
Eroded our hold on our tenuous gr
Time is mine loath'd enemy
As hours I need quickly slip away
And on the days I wish to die
How slowly the seconds choose to tick by
When love fades to animosity
Metaphorically ticking - tearing with ferocity
At all the moments I tried not to lose
Father time's pernicious power eating at my muse
I'd like to say that my emotions are not insidious
But is love still really love, if it is not invidious?
There's this boy I know who's pretty and smart
Who says he's quiet but isn't
I want to love him but won't
so I'll just run my fingers through his hair and kiss the grains of his face
scratchy like heavy sandpaper because he's forgotten what a razor is.
He'll tease me and please me and squeeze every last drop of life from my soul
and I'll let him because time is infinite but fading faster than a storm, warm and sure
pure like the white on a crow.
We'll move together in time, fingers entwined like vines,
like fine wines we'll taste perfection for a moment.
We fall back to earth wondering where we've been
but that hardly matters when
"And then," she was saying, "there are those days when you're just not too sure..."
It started out as a story. My story, her story. Documenting the days when 'it' was just too much, documenting the days when 'it' just wasn't enough, documenting those same days when 'it' was just too much and just not enough at the same time, leaving us torn and broken inside. "She" is a girl I know, or thought I knew, at least. I hadn't known her very long, but I felt as if I'd known her forever. We'd spend hours together in my room, discussing love, philosophy, life. I felt I'd found someone who knew me inside and out as no one ever did. She began to pull m

I want to write but when I try it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Even Dragon has turned his back on me, and if my Muse can't even stand the sight of me, how can I bear putting pen to paper?
Stuff is getting better. It was very hard for a while, too hard, but getting better now, and I'll be done with my undergrad work for good Thursday. Glorious.
Today... today should have been awesome. Last day of classes, weather was nice, the whole campus was a party. Should have been.
Instead I'm awake at 5 in the morning wanting to cry and feeding my self-loathing after a day of disappointment.
It started off ominously, waking up at 5am from nightmares that wouldn't let me get back to sleep. I went for a smoothie with strawberry liquor in it at 8:30. Went to class at 9. Talked to a guy I know for an hour. Went to my other class at 11. That went well enough - I aquired a quantity of chocolate and got a B on my english paper. I ended up tagging along with some people from SL, the next dorm over,
